Recall of Garmin nüvi GPS Devices [updates]

I have been thinking if there's any reported case for this issue, and I just come across this article. It said there have been 9 report cases of battery overheating, but there's no injury reported. That means battery-on-fire has not been seen. It's good Garmin reacts quickly to this before worst case appears.
Following are some updated details i captured from http://www.oyetimes.com/news/canada/5951-recall-of-garmin-nuevi-gps-devices

nüvi Battery PCB Recall [Notice]

To everyone who owns/carries Garmin GPS,
Please take note of this battery recall by Garmin for models:
  • nüvi 200W, 250W, & 260W
  • nüvi 7xx (where xx is a two-digit number)
Garmin is voluntarily recalling certain nüvi devices that contain a specific battery that was manufactured by the battery supplier within a limited date code range. Garmin has identified potential overheating issues when certain batteries manufactured by the third-party battery supplier within a limited date code range are used in certain Garmin nüvi models with a specific printed circuit board (PCB) design. It appears that the interaction of these factors can, in rare circumstances, increase the possibility of overheating, which may lead to a fire hazard. Although there have been no injuries or significant property damage caused by this issue, Garmin is taking this action out of an abundance of caution.

You can determine your nüvi model number by looking at the label on the back or bottom of your nüvi.

The recall can be read at https://my.garmin.com/rma/recallLanding.faces
Please click here to view the Garmin nüvi® Product Safety Recall Letter.

Regards,
I am one of Garmin GPS owners too. So, I am replacing the battery.

Safety comes first.
